Beauty From Ashes

It is now four and a half years since my husband died and time to

write my thoughts and feelings

I can now say that the journey of grief is indeed just that a journey,

not a very pleasant one but it does have its stages and at the end of it life does go on.

And I can honestly say too that at times you will bleed again

Oh it is so difficult this journey

How wonderful for me it is to have found friends who know and understand

and lift me when I fall

My first book that I was able to 'dip into' was

Beauty from Ashes by Jennifer Rees Larcombe

When you are on that journey you can never see that there is any beauty to

come out of the ashes and mess that your life is in.

It is only within the last couple of months that I have been able to

concentrate and read a book through

Hope for the Hurting by Ruth Graham, Daughter of Billy Graham.

Through Ruth's own 'messes of life' she knows what it is like to be depressed

and struggling in life. She gives hope to those of us who are bruised and crushed.

Ruth tells of her marriage ending in divorce and going on to have another unsuccessful marriage.

And tells of her daughter's unplanned pregnancy

when her daughter was just seventeen.

Again I believe Ruth can show us how to handle

our own relationships after the death of our partners

Ruth's book is from a christian perspective and has so much to say to all of us.

Just found an excellent book by Stormie OMARTIAN The Prayer That Changes Everything

Stormie OMARTIAN has written lots of books and I am going to make this page my homepage

as she has a new prayer every day.

Having read her biography, this is a girl who has been through so many difficult times.

Stormie wants "to help people find a way out of their pain, unfulfillment, confusion, or frustration

and become all God created them to be."
